New ‘paperless’ education system launches

These bold decisions in South Africa shows political will, and it is encouraging. Yet, and although I am a huge supporter of innovative solutions in education, I am very concerned about three big matters: a) Impaired Teacher professional development initiatives and b) Teacher atrophy (we replace just over 1 new teacher for every 10 we loose) and c) Unreliable Broadband Connection (still in the hands of unscrupulous mobile service providers with fragmented service in the very rural areas where the tablets for these students will be deployed)
