Four students, two in South Africa and two in Sweden, will have their online discussion on the short story by Beverley Naidoo, Journey to Jo’burg.
“I am quite excited about this,” said 7th Grader, Louise Österberg, from Stockholm. “We did the same project last year focussing on a Swedish author. It is great that we can learn more from another country’s literature”.
Online seminars, where real-time distance learning platforms, like Elluminate, are used, make this kind of dialogue possible.
Students read a text, or study a painting or listen to a piece of music and the ideas emerging from these form the basis for the discussions.
